UPDATE 05/08/2020 – Daily publicly celebrated Masses will return May 18; Sunday Masses resume May 30-31 The opening of daily public Masses in our diocese will be Monday, May 18. The two weeks of daily Masses provide ample preparation for the return to Sunday public liturgies. The first public Sunday Masses, since the Ohio bishops suspended publicly celebrated Masses March 16 due to the coronavirus pandemic, will be on Pentecost weekend, May 30-31.

UPDATE 03/16/2020 – As noted in the letter from Bishop Jeffrey M. Monforton, effective immediately, all publicly celebrated Masses/liturgies are temporarily suspended at least through Holy Week and Easter.

This includes all Basilica activities: Mass, Stations of the Cross, All Holy Week Activities, RCIA, Penance Services, Easter Egg Hunt, Meetings, as well as Fish Fry and Bingo at St Mary Catholic School.

  • CONFESSIONS – Confessions are suspended and will be heard only in danger of death and Holy Communion distributed only as Viaticum.
  • PRAYER – The Basilica will only be open from 7:00 am – 8:00 for private prayer. And pews are disinfected daily.
  • ADORATION – Pray for our world in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament in the Sanctuary (not in the chapel) on Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30 am – 7:00 pm. Please respect the boundaries of others while praying.
  • SUNDAY MASS WEBCAST – Click here to view Sunday Mass. If you cannot access while mass is active, please try back later as the service is limited to a number of viewers at one time. Mass video is available to view at a later time.

Sunday remains a holy day, and we encourage the faithful to pray as a family or individually the rosary, Divine Mercy chaplet, the Liturgy of the Hours, Stations of the Cross, etc.
