- A tour group came on March 17. The gift shop made $1400. Janet mentioned that we could use 2 or 3 more to help with the luncheons.
- The blood drive on March 12 brought 53 successful donations.
- Volunteer opportunities
- Confirmation on April 22. They are requesting cookies and drinks. Need 3 or 4 for set up and clean up. This confirmation will involve only St. Mary and St. Henry parishes this year.
- Directory pictures will be taken on the weekends of April 17 and 24. Help is needed for sign up and for during the sittings.
- May crowning will be celebrated on May 6 with mass and a light meal. Any young ladies who would like to process with the flowers are invited to join in. Debbie will contact Father Edward about details. Janet Steinel, Judy McCoy, Jenny Strahler and Tonia Lang will set up.
- On May 30, 2 seminarians will be ordained at St. Mary’s. The diocese has asked for cake and drinks to be served. 4 -5 people will be needed to help with set up and clean up. The ordination will take place at 11:00 and reception will follow.
- There was concern expressed about the day of spirituality. The priests had not been informed that the doors to the church should be opened by 8:00. A number of women were waiting outside.
- Kitchen renovations – since it will be a while before a total renovation will be approved, we need to begin making a list of priorities for partial renovations. First on the list would be painting the cabinets and walls. It was suggested that the drink containers and coffee carafes be replaced. We should also look at getting a good set of knives.
- The Little Saints youth group held their 1st meeting last month. About 10 attended. They will meet the last Thursday of the month. Cristal will keep us informed.
- Instead of bus trips, we are considering other means of supporting day trips. These could include car pools, renting a van and just organizing the trips. We are looking at going to Mother Anglica’s home in Canton, Ohio. Also, we may consider a pilgrimage trip to Pittsburgh.
- Parish picnic – we are beginning early planning for the September 27 picnic. Save the Date announcements will go out in June.
The meeting was adjourned. The next meeting will be May 6.
Respectfully submitted,
