• The meeting was called to order by President Debbie Lazorik, followed by an opening prayer by Nancy Matheny and the pledge of allegiance.
  • Secretary reports for November and January were approved
  • Treasurer’s report by Barb Ritchie
  • Over $1500 was received from the envelopes, other income came from funeral dinners and donut donations
  • Theresa Domico noted that 30 frozen lasagnas were purchased from Stouffer’s outlet and donated to us by Dr. George and Cheryl Tokodi.
  • Sunshine Report by Carol Antill
  • Carol sent out 15 Thanksgiving day cards, and numerous sympathy and get well cards during December and January

  • Carol also can be reached for furniture pickup for the St. Vincent de Paul society
  • Book club – the next meeting is February 28.  The book is “On the Other Side of Fear”. 
  • Outreach committee will meet in March to plan future activities
  • Funeral lunches – Debbie will send notices and once enough have responded, she will let the rest know.  We have 4 designated shoppers for funeral lunches and other activities.  They are Janet Schilling, Cheryl Tokodi, Sue Lambert and Hannah McClinton.
  • Our name is officially Catholic Women in Action (CWC)
  • Fund raiser with the Knights of Columbus – Theresa met with some of the knights – It was decided to hold a spaghetti dinner on April 21, 12:00 – 6:00. It will be held at the school. They asked Steve Windland to make the sauce since he is well known for great sauce.  The plan is to include children’s games and raffles.  We will send out a request for meat (chicken, beef and pork) to be donated. 
  • The new updated calendar of events for the year was discussed. 
  • The annual Easter egg hunt was added on March 23.  Lora Offenberger requested a donation from the CWA for this.
  • Mr Bee has agreed to donate potato chips for the tour group lunches.
  •  Rite of Election – February 25.  There will be no lunch, but a reception will be held at 2:15.  CCD will be meeting that morning, so set up for the reception will start at 11:00.
  • Day of Spirituality – March 16 – lunch will be catered. We will need volunteers to set-up, and clean up.  This will be paid for by the diocese. 
  • The Chrism mass – March 26 at 2:00.  There will be a light lunch for priests before the mass and a reception following the mass. The Chrism mass lunch and reception will be paid for by the church.
  • Lora Offenberger gave a report on her activities for increasing communication for our group.  She has offered to fund the accounts for the first year.  Charges are $13 for creating the domain name and $72/year to create the e-mail account.  She has set up the domain name, StMaryCWA.com.  She will create a general e-mail directory with the name WomenatStMaryCWA.com.  Within the general directory groups can be designated for specific activities.  The officers will be authorized to receive and send out e-mails.  The facebook page will have a new name, StMaryCWA.  Debbie and Theresa will be the administrators for FB.
  • Penny suggested we take pictures of our various activities to post on FB.
