I am very happy to welcome you to our Basilica web page. We have been praying together, working together and rejoicing together since 1838 here in Marietta.
Parishioners of the past achieved a great deal, and we are called upon to achieve much for the parish and our community in the future. One of the greatest achievements, and one that we must constantly strive to build upon, is “family.” We must sincerely strive to be a “parish family” – loving one another and growing together in prayer and mutual support. The parish community is where the mission of Jesus Christ comes to life and continues day to day.
We have a beautiful renovated Basilica and an outstanding Catholic School; yet the parish is not buildings - the parish is first and foremost a people – a people called together by God and empowered by the Holy Spirit. Our parish exists not for itself, but for the mission of Jesus Christ. The parish is called to teach, and witness the Gospel of Christ to our children, to those preparing for deeper Sacramental life, to those alienated from the Church and to those not active in the parish community.
All parishioners are called upon to recognize their individual talents and gifts and to use those talents and gifts in one or more of the many and various ministries of the parish for the building up of the Kingdom of God.
As you browse this web site, the Basilica is here to serve you. You are most welcome here at the Basilica of St. Mary of  the Assumption. Your presence in the parish would give us yet another facet of the “Living Body of Christ.” May God bless you and give you the grace to feel very much at home here. If there is anything you need, please do not hesitate to ask.
Msgr. John Michael Campbell (Rector)
Lenten Fish Fry

The Lenten Fish Fry is held each Friday of Lent (except Good Friday) from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at St. Mary School. This fun event helps to provide necessary funds for our school, a vastly important ministry of our parish. All are welcome! Click here for the flier.
Stations of the Cross

Join us each Friday of Lent at 7:00 PM for this powerful devotion focused on the final hours in the life of Christ. The Stations of the Cross give us the opportunity to spiritually walk with Christ and meditate on his profound love for us.
